Park City Chamber’s new Mountainkind Card aims to keep holiday dollars at home
Chamber's new digital gift card adds 50% bonus to local holiday shopping
PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau unveiled a new digital gift card program aimed at keeping holiday shopping dollars within the local community.
The “Mountainkind Card,” developed in partnership with Yiftee and Mastercard, offers purchasers a 50% bonus on values between $25 and $200 while promotion funds last—for instance, if someone buys a gift card for $100, they will receive $50 extra. The digital format eliminates plastic waste and will feature tap-to-pay capability within 2-3 months.
“We’ve designed this card to support local businesses by encouraging shopping and gifting from a variety of businesses and service providers across the Wasatch Back,” said Scott House, VP of Partner Services for the Chamber.
The program has attracted over 40 participating businesses, ranging from restaurants and retail shops to wellness services and outdoor recreation providers. Merchants face no additional costs beyond standard Mastercard processing fees.
Local businesses have the option to purchase Mountainkind Cards fee free to build packages, and to gift to employees. The cards are available for purchase through the Park City Chamber’s website encouraging visitors to keep their dollars local as well.
“Mountainkind Cards are the perfect gift for any friend or family member—especially those who seem to have it all,” House said.
The initiative aligns with the Chamber’s broader “Mountainkind” campaign promoting destination stewardship in Park City, a community that has evolved from its 1963 origins as a ski resort promoter to an organization representing more than 1,000 Summit County businesses.
