Park City unveils new bus wraps to promote public transit and sustainability
New design showcases seasonal themes and "Mountainkind" branding to encourage free public transportation
PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Transit revealed its new bus wraps on Oct. 14 as part of an initiative to promote free public transportation. The new designs, which include bold “FREE” lettering, aim to increase ridership among both locals and tourists. The effort is supported by city sales tax revenue and in partnership with the Park City Chamber of Commerce.
The wraps feature seasonal designs—autumn, winter, and summer—showcasing different colors that will help distinguish buses on various routes. “We’re really excited about the seasonal wraps. The one behind me is our autumn bus, and it’s all part of a larger push to encourage the community to use our free transit system,” said Tim Sanderson, Park City’s transportation Director, told TownLift. He emphasized the importance of community participation, noting over one million rides last winter. “This is just one step in our commitment to improving transportation options in Park City,” Sanderson added at the unveiling event.
Jennifer Wesselhoff, President and CEO of the Park City Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the collaboration between the Chamber and the city. She mentioned the new “Mountainkind” branding, which focuses on promoting sustainable behaviors like taking public transit to reduce traffic and emissions.
Park City Mayor Nann Worel praised the partnerships that have made the project possible, emphasizing public transit’s role in decreasing car congestion. “It takes all of us together, working in partnership, to increase the number of people riding our transit system,” Worel said.
This initiative aims to encourage residents and visitors to use the free bus service, contributing to a greener, more sustainable Park City.
