Heads up: Tractor trailer crash and fire closes I-80 westbound in Parley’s Canyon

SALT LAKE CITY — A tractor trailer rolled and caught fire this morning closing westbound Interstate 80 through Parley’s Canyon, forcing semi trucks to reroute to Park City. The fire is out and emergency crews are cleaning up the incident. Traffic is being re-routed through Emigration Canyon.

The closure begins at mile marker 130 near the Quarry exit, according to transportation officials. Authorities have not provided an estimated time for reopening the highway.

All semi truck traffic must use the Park City route as an alternate pathway and officials have stated that trucks are not allowed through Emigration Canyon. Other motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.
