Burn permits available in Summit County starting Oct. 18
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Summit County advised residents that burn permits for incorporated areas will be available from October 18 to October 30. After October 30, burning in incorporated areas will be closed.
Residents in unincorporated areas can obtain burn permits Monday through Thursday, starting October 21 through October 30. Beginning November 1, burn permits will no longer be required in unincorporated areas.
The Summit County Fire Warden reminds residents to follow safety guidelines when burning, including checking the clearing index, ensuring winds are below 10 mph, and reporting the start and end of burns to Summit County Dispatch.
