Authorities confirm identity of man found dead in Uintas as missing Summit County resident
KAMAS, Utah – Thomas Roger Lund, 39, of eastern Summit County, was identified as the man found along Mirror Lake Highway, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. Lund had been missing since Sept. 12, and his body was discovered on Oct. 4 near the Soapstone Basin turnoff with an apparent gunshot wound.
Authorities found Lund near his truck, which had crashed into a ravine and was unoccupied. While the state Office of the Medical Examiner has not yet determined the official cause of death, officials do not currently suspect foul play.
Lund was known to frequent the Uinta Mountains, including areas around Wolf Creek Pass and Moon Lake, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
