Park City teen and her horse win the blue ribbon in three-day-eventing competition
UTAH COUNTY, Utah — Park City student-athlete Cayenne Wilson with her horse, Highwayman, won the three-day-eventing competition in Utah County on Sept. 15.
The Skyline Eventing Park in Mount Pleasant played host for the Area IX competition of the US Eventing Association, which includes Colorado, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.
Wilson, who stays busy with a thriving alpine ski racing career in the winters, was in the open novice catagory with Highwayman in the show jumping, dressage, and cross country jumping for which her winning score was a 31.2.
The dynamic duo of hores and rider got to lead the victory lap around the ring after being awarded the blue ribbon.
On social media, Wilson’s mom thanked coach Kimberly Castro and gave credit to her daughter’s “hard work, determination, grit, heart, and soul.” She went on to write, “Love this community and the families we spent the weekend with, plus, the perfect Utah weather was a bonus too.”
