Park City School Superintendent Gildea to retire, board to appoint interim successor

PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City School board has announced it will accept Superintendent Jill Gildea’s retirement notice and appoint an interim Superintendent at its meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

According to Gildea’s Notice, her retirement would become effective as of January 31, 2025. No other details were provided, and the school has not responded for comment.

This comes on the heels of a vote in August to extend Gildea’s contract through June 2026.

A Sept. 5 article in the Salt Lake Tribune stated that Gildea had been searching for jobs and may not have notified the board ‘promptly’ according to her contract.
