Authorities seek suspect in suspicious death near Jordanelle Reservoir
HIDEOUT, Utah — Authorities in Wasatch County are investigating the death of a man found near a trailhead north of Jordanelle Reservoir as a possible road rage incident.
Deputies responded to the Ross Creek Trailhead around 11 a.m. on Thursday after receiving a report of a deceased person, the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. Upon arrival, they found an adult male dead outside a vehicle on the shoulder of the roadway.
Preliminary findings suggest the incident may have occurred late Wednesday night, around 11 p.m., officials said. Investigators believe a second vehicle, possibly a Jeep Gladiator or Jeep Rubicon with front-end damage, may have been involved.
Authorities are urging the individuals in the second vehicle to come forward. “The sooner you turn yourselves in to deal with the situation, the better,” the statement read.
No immediate danger is reported in the trailhead area, and the identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office at 435-654-1411.
