Applications open for Summit County’s Recreation and Arts Grants

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — As of Sept. 1, Summit County has begun accepting online applications for its Recreation, Arts, and Parks (RAP) Grant. The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. on Sept. 30.

The grant is funded by a special 0.1% sales tax initiative approved by the Utah State Legislature. This tax allows revenue to be spent on arts and recreation opportunities within the county.

Eligible facilities include publicly owned or operated parks, campgrounds, marinas, docks, golf courses, playgrounds, athletic fields, gymnasiums, swimming pools, and trail systems. The Utah Code defines these as “recreational facilities.”

“Only publicly owned or operated … facilities used for recreational purposes qualify for funding with RAP/Recreation taxes,” the grant application states.

Eligibility requirements and application instructions are available on the Summit County Grants page.
