Two-week closure for Park City recycling center begins August 19

PARK CITY, Utah – Recycle Utah will be closed for two weeks starting Monday, August 19.

The Engine House development will necessitate the closure of the Park City recycling center for two weeks. It is expected to reopen the Tuesday after Labor Day, allowing time for the Engine House contractor to complete necessary sewer system tie-ins.

Residents can either hold on to their recyclables until it reopens or bring in what they have this week before the center closes.

In the meantime, Recycle Utah is in talks with a well-known recycling consulting firm called Resource Recycling Systems to help plan future facilities and collection strategies county residents will need in the future.

A definitive plan is expected to be presented to the community later this year. It will outline exactly what might be needed in order to provide an expanded service to a growing area.
