Trump’s Park City fundraiser postponed again
PARK CITY, Utah – Former President Donald Trump has postponed his upcoming visit to Park City, where he was scheduled to attend a fundraiser next week. The event has now been delayed for the second time due to changes in Trump’s schedule, according to an email sent to donors on August 22 by Taylor Binkley, a regional finance director for the Republican National Committee.
The fundraiser, originally planned for late June before being rescheduled to August 29, has already garnered over $8 million in commitments, the Deseret News reported. Despite the delay, organizers say Trump is still looking forward to the event, with a new date yet to be confirmed. The last two rescheduled events were set to take place at the Deer Valley St. Regis.
Behind the scenes: The event is being organized by George Glass, a former ambassador to Portugal, and Marlon Bateman, a former State Department official, with co-host Doug Quezada. The postponement comes amid personnel changes within the Trump campaign, including the return of 2016 campaign manager Cory Lewandowski, as the campaign shifts its focus to battleground states like Arizona and Nevada.
Flashback: This is the second time the Utah fundraiser has been postponed. The first delay occurred in April when Trump agreed to a debate with President Joe Biden on the original event date. The price for attending the fundraiser ranges from $10,000 for reception access to $500,000 to join the host committee.
Co-hosts: The event’s co-hosts include notable figures like John Schnatter, founder of Papa John’s Pizza, and talk show host Glenn Beck.
