Park City launches search for Nonprofit Advisory Committee members
PARK CITY, Utah — Park City officials are seeking applicants for a newly established Nonprofit Services Advisory Committee following a City Council resolution passed on Aug. 22.
The committee, comprising 5-7 members, will evaluate applications and recommend funding allocations for nonprofit service contracts and grants to the council. This move aims to create a more transparent and inclusive process for distributing city funds to local nonprofits.
Eligibility requirements include:
Residency: All members must either live, work, volunteer, own property, or own a business within Park City municipal boundaries. A majority (at least 3 out of 5, or 4 out of 7) must have their primary residence within Park City. A majority of committee members must be primary Park City residents.
Experience: While not a requirement, the city would prioritize recruiting members with experience working or volunteering with nonprofits, or having received services from nonprofits.
Conflict of Interest: Members would be subject to the city’s conflict of interest code and ethics act.
Initially, the proposal included a provision to exclude members who are currently employed by or serve on the board of a nonprofit that would likely apply for city funding. However, this exclusion was ultimately struck from the final agreement.
Those interested in joining the committee can apply for the position here. The application deadline is Sept. 13.
