PARK CITY, Utah — The Kimball Arts Festival is expected to bring excitement, color, tourists and traffic impacts to Old Town Park City this weekend.
The Kimball Arts Festival is a three-day, open-air arts festival that serves as the Kimball Art Center’s largest fundraiser of the year. The festival will take place on Main Street from Aug. 2-4.
According to an impact notice from Park City Municipal, the Bob Wells and Brew Pub Parking Lots closed on Wednesday at 6 a.m., and Main Street, Heber Avenue, Swede Alley, and Swede Alley remaining surface lots will close to parking and traffic from Aug. 2 at 3 a.m. through Aug. 4 at midnight.
No public parking will be allowed on Park Avenue, Swede Alley or other residential streets around Old Town during the festival. Access Passes will be required for residents and businesses with off-street parking.
Parking will also be available in private lots throughout Old Town, with varying regulations, pay structures and costs.
Paid parking will be available at the China Bridge Parking Structure from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug. 2 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 3-4 for $9 an hour for a maximum of $40. Standard rates apply after hours.
Permit holders can park in North Marsac Parking Lot (via Marsac Avenue) or Gateway Center upper lot (via Heber Avenue). If lots fill, permit holders will be able to park at Sandridge and China Bridge, space permitting. The Flag Pole lot will not be available during the festival.
The city is encouraging festivalgoers to walk, bike, carpool or take public transit to the event. Free parking and free transit to old town will be available at Richardson Flat, the Park City School District building on Kearns Boulevard and Park City Mountain Resort.
Free parking and transit will also be available at Deer Valley Resort’s Snow Park (lots five and six) on Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. No Arts Festival parking will be available after 3 p.m. due to concerts.
