High West Whiskey fuels world’s longest shot ski challenge in Park City

PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Sunrise Rotary Club and High West Distillery are hosting the 8th annual Park City Sunrise Shot Ski on Oct. 12, aiming to raise $60,000 for local grant programs.

The event, scheduled for 2 p.m. on Park City’s Historic Main Street, will feature participants taking shots of High West Double Rye whiskey from a communal shot ski.

Last year’s event set a world record with a 2,950-foot-long shot ski serving 1,363 shots using 551 skis end to end. It raised over $40,000 for the Rotary Club’s grant program.

This year, organizers hope to break that record by serving 1,385 shots.

“Thanks to our generous, enthusiastic community, the Park City Sunrise Shot Ski™ continues to break records and raise meaningful dollars to support our local grant programs,” said Park City Sunrise Rotary Club Member Connie Nelson. “We invite participants to purchase their tickets or secure a sponsorship opportunity for an even greater impact on this year’s event.”

Tickets cost $30 and include a spot on the shot ski. Sponsorship options range from $250 to $600.

Proceeds will support the Rotary Club’s grant program, benefiting 20 community groups.

Tickets, sponsorships and merchandise are available at on the Park City Shotski website.
