Eating green: Recycle Utah’s 100-mile meal mixes local flavor with purpose
Local food, farms, and economy took center stage on Aug. 17
PARK CITY, Utah — Recycle Utah hosted its 9th Annual 100-Mile Meal event on Aug. 17, 2024, showcasing local food and farms. The event featured live music, a five-course dinner menu, and local wine and beer.
Recycle Utah’s 100-Mile Meal promotes sustainability and waste reduction by educating participants and connecting them to the local foodshed. Farmers who donated at least $100 worth of food were offered two seats at the table, helping put faces to names.
Buying local food reduces transportation emissions and supports the local economy and community. The 100-Mile Meal is a fundraiser for Recycle Utah, helping to support the organization’s operational and programming costs.
