One dead after semi-truck crashes on I-80 near Lamb’s Canyon

PARK CITY, Utah — The passenger in a semi-truck traveling westbound on I-80 is dead after being thrown from the cab of the truck after it crashed into a concrete barrier.

According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, at approximately 4:30 AM on Saturday, July 27, a driver of a semi towing a 53-foot trailer lost control and impacted the right concrete barrier at Lamb’s Canyon.

The semi detached from the trailer and rolled down the north embankment. The trailer remained on the highway, blocking all lanes of traffic.

The driver of the semi was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger was ejected and died at the scene.
