Summit County residents: Watch the mail for notice of property valuation before Aug. 1
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Summit County property owners should receive their annual notice of valuation statements by mail on or before Aug. 1.
A notice of valuation informs property owners of the property’s total assessed value, property description and exemptions applied to the property.
“As the taxpayer, you should be watching for market changes and whether your property is coded correctly, and receiving any exemptions that may be available,” said a Facebook post from Summit County.
If you disagree with the Assessor’s valuation of your property, you can file an appeal with the Board of Equalization within 45 days. Appeals must be filed through the Auditor’s office by 5 p.m. on Sept. 15.
