Smoke from prescribed burn visible in Kamas area

KAMAS, Utah — Summit County officials issued a notice on Sunday afternoon saying that the Ponderosa Prescribed Burn in the Uintas is showing activity today. A column of smoke is visible from the interior of the burn area. Activity is approximately 1 mile inside the containment line and currently not a threat to escape.

Forest Service crews are on scene and monitoring the fire. Please do not report smoke in the area.
