National Ability Center’s Summit Challenge ride will take place Aug. 24

PARK CITY, Utah – The National Ability Center’s Summit Challenge will return on Saturday, August 24, with the goal of raising $150,000 for adaptive recreation programs.

Rides begin between 7 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., depending on distance, and run through the mountains of Summit and Wasatch counties. Riders can choose to challenge themselves with a 4, 7, 16, 25, 50, 80, or 100-mile fully supported ride. The event village will open at 11 a.m. with lunch, refreshments, and entertainment. An awards presentation will take place on the main stage at 2:30 p.m.

The event, in its 17th year, raises money to support over 30,000 experiences that the National Ability Center offers to people of all abilities annually.

Riders who take on the 100-mile course have the opportunity to climb up Wolf Creek Ranch, a trail that is typically closed for public riding. The one-mile Discovery Loop is great for families to get involved with the Summit Challenge at no cost.

Early bird tickets are available for purchase now until Monday evening at 7 p.m. and start at $45. Regular registration closes on Aug. 22 at 7 p.m., and prices start at $60, with all adaptive athletes riding for free. Event sponsors include Kodiak Cakes, KT Tape, Hearth & Hill, and Park City Brewing. For the full list of sponsors, visit the Summit Challenge website. The National Ability Center encourages riders to fundraise as individuals or create a team to benefit the leading, adaptive nonprofit.
