JANS Winter Welcome tickets on sale July 15

PARK CITY, Utah — Tickets are now on sale for the JANS Winter Welcome, held on the night of October 26 at the Stein Eriksen Lodge.

That means elite youth athletes will be present throughout the communities of Park City and beyond, selling Opportunity Drawing tickets to raise funds for their specific teams.

This week last year’s drawing winner will travel to Paris, having won a hospitality trip for two to the 2024 Summer Olympics.

This year, a different luxury global vacation destination is up for grabs.

“In its 44th year, JANS Winter Welcome is one of the longest running fundraising events in Park City,” Emily S. Fisher, YSA executive director, told TownLift.  “This event raises funds for the Youth Sports Alliance and our seven partner sport clubs.”

Tables and tickets have historically sold out as people get their black-tie attire ready for the event, which will include a live auction, sit-down dinner, D.J., dancing, a bar, and a popular, community-wide, fast-paced, online silent auction.

“There are opportunities for everyone in the community to get involved in this event,” Ashley Laakso, Youth Sports Alliance development director, told TownLift. “Intermountain Health Opportunity Drawing tickets and event tickets go on sale today. The Opportunity Drawing grand prize this year is a trip to Belize.”

“Go to the Youth Sports Alliance website for more information on different ways to get involved,” Laakso continued.

YSA’s Get Out And Play (GOAP) provides after-school early release days for sports beginning in first grade, with instruction and transportation included, especially after the organization won a new SUV through a national recognition award.

ACTiV8 is for the older group; it serves ten different schools and homeschool organizations across the Wasatch Back in two different counties.

Individual scholarships managed by endowments help elite athletes dare to dream.

Fisher is leaving today for Paris as part of the Utah Delegation that will present to the IOC why Salt Lake City and Park City should win the bid to host the 2034 Winter Olympics. She’s bringing with her a YSA teenager from each of the sports of speedskating, luge, and figure skating, as those families have benefited from YSA scholarships and, as a result, have seen their children flourish in their chosen sport.
