Expect five weeks of construction on US-40 south of Heber City
WASATCH COUNTY, Utah – On Monday, July 8, Utah’s Department of Transportation will begin construction on highway US-40 south of Heber City.
This will be the final phase to renew US-40 between Clegg’s Canyon and the junction with US-189 in Heber City.
For roughly five weeks UDOT crews will work to place a new road surface, also known asa microsurface, to preserve and extend the life of the pavement and replace guardrail in Daniel’s Canyon.
Construction crews will work nightly, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday, although schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions and material availability.
UDOT completed the first phase of the renewal project on this specific stretch of highway US-40 last fall, which included sealing cracks and repairing soft spots in the existing asphalt, as well as replacing and installing new pedestrian ramps to improve safety along the road for the traveling public.
