Park City speedskater returns to US team roster
Casey Dawson again secures spot on U.S. Speedskating national team
PARK CITY, Utah — US Speedskating has once again named Park City native Casey Dawson to its national team roster. The 24-year-old won a bronze medal in the Men’s Team Pursuit at the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games.
Long-track specialist Dawson got his start while attending Jeremy Ranch Elementary School in the Youth Sports Alliance’s (YSA) Get Out And Play (GOAP) program. Then, he joined the Park City Speedskating Club, which is currently holding a Summer Learn-To-Skate Academy as well as Learn-To-Speedskate drop-in sessions at the Park City Ice Arena.
Tami Dawson, Casey’s mom and biggest fan showed her support for all the athletes named to the team on social media writing the following message from her Park City home, “Congratulations to Team USA!!!”
US Speedskating’s headquarters is located in Kearns at the Utah Olympic Oval, which is part of the triple threat of venues under the administration of the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation, which also encompasses the Utah Olympic Park and Soldier Hollow Nordic Center.
