Norwegian Ambassador visits Alf Engen Ski Museum

Ambassador Krutnes learns about Norwegian ski pioneers in the Intermountain area

PARK CITY, Utah — The Alf Engen Ski Museum hosted the Norwegian Ambassador to the U.S., Anniken Krutnes, on May 18. The event was a chance to share the story of Norwegian immigrant Alf Engen and other key Norwegian ski pioneers in the Intermountain area with the Norwegian visitors.

Last month, the museum announced the appointment of Annie Bommer as executive director following the retirement of Connie Nelson, who served as director for 22 years.

The Alf Engen Ski Museum Foundation was established in 1989 with the goal of preserving the history of skiing in the Intermountain Region. The museum strives to provide a world-class facility that highlights the contributions made in ski area development, athletic competition, snow safety, ski innovation, and ski teaching methods.
