PCHS student swimmer signs at D1 University
PARK CITY, Utah — Lauren Biglow of the Park City High School Miners has signed to attend and swim at the University of Rhode Island where she’ll pursue a degree in Business at the D1 school.
Starting out at Trailside Elementary, Biglow then went to Ecker Hill Middle School which boasts the swimming pool facility where she’s perfected her passion and talent.
In February on the campus of BYU Biglow and her teammates finished 2nd at the Utah High School State Swimming Championships.
Biglow’s Results at State:
- 1st, 400 Free Team Relay
- 3rd, 200 Team Medley
- 3rd, 200 Individual Free
- 3rd, 100 Individual Back
After touring a half dozen schools in the East and South with her family, she was thrilled to be recruited to URI, located in the region she preferred.
Mom Christina is originally from Vermont where she was a competitive skier, and Dad, Doug, from New Jersey played football, and with extended family residing in Massachusetts, Biglow will be able to reach right out for Sunday dinners, laundry duty, or familiar fun weekends.
Lauren’s younger brother Christopher, also a Park City High student, had a stellar sports score simultaneous to swim season. He is on the Hockey Team that just won State. So for the Biglow family, it’s a win win.
