SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — A garbage truck fire that broke out at approximately 11 a.m. today at the Three Mile Landfill has been contained, according to a statement from the North Summit Fire Service District.
Firefighters reported smoke coming from the truck’s CNG engine compartment when they arrived at the scene.
No trash was in the truck bed at the time of the fire, and the driver of the truck was able to stop it in a clear area. Firefighters were eventually able to contain the fire to the engine compartment of the truck.

No injuries were reported, and the truck was turned back over to the company.
