Snowplow dump bed crashes into I-80 bridge near Jeremy Ranch, closing road

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Feb. 7, a snowplow truck bed crashed into the I-80 bridge near Homestead Road in Summit County, causing a ‘structure emergency.’ The dump bed appears to have raised while driving, causing the top of the dump bed to strike the bridge overhead. The dump bed was dislodged from the truck in the incident. The road was closed temporarily while emergency crews extracted the dump bed from the roadway. It is currently unknown if the incident caused structural damage to the bridge.

KUTV reports that no one was injured in the crash, according to Summit County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Felicia Sotelo.

Vehicles were allowed back over the bridge just after 9:20 p.m.
