DUI, Possession of Cocaine

A traffic stop was initiated on West Rasmussen Road for a speeding violation. When deputies made contact with the driver, several open containers, as well as clear signs of impairment, were observed. The male driver participated in standardized field sobriety tests, which he performed poorly on, subsequently resulting in his arrest for DUI, and a search incident to arrest was performed. During the search, a user amount of cocaine was located in one of the driver’s pockets.  The driver was transported to the Summit County Jail without incident, and the involved vehicle was state tax impounded by Park City Towing.

Possession of Marijuana

Authorities pulled over an eastbound vehicle on I-80 for a lane travel violation. Upon approaching the driver, deputies noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the car. Subsequently, a probable cause search was conducted, leading to the discovery of user amounts of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver was then cited for possession of a controlled substance and subsequently released.

Feb. 13, 2024

Evading Police, Possession of Narcotics

A suspicious vehicle was reported to have driven into a sheriff’s vehicle and then disappeared near the SlopeSide apartment complex. The same vehicle was then observed to be driving on a dirt road on the east side of the complex. The vehicle became stuck in the snow, and when Deputies approached, a male passenger exited and led deputies on a foot pursuit. Responding Officers and Deputies set up a permitter while the male’s footprints led deputies to his location on SR 224.  The male was safely taken into custody and booked for failing to stop at the command of a peace officer. The male driver was also found to be in possession of user amounts of narcotics and taken into custody.

Feb. 15, 2024

Impound

A vehicle was pulled over on I-80 headed Westbound for a traffic violation. It was then discovered that the involved vehicle was not insured and had revoked registration. The driver of the vehicle was released with a citation, and the involved vehicle was state tax impounded by Park City Towing.

Feb. 16, 2024

DUI

Deputies responded to a complaint reporting a possible intoxicated person who was unwanted at their house. Upon arrival, deputies initiated standardized field sobriety tests on the individual to which the suspect performed poorly on, and who later admitted to consuming alcohol. After a medical evaluation, the suspect was transported to PKMC. A warrant was obtained for a blood draw collected at PKMC. The suspect was released on citation, and the vehicle was impounded.

Feb. 17, 2024

Theft

Deputies responded to a report of two individuals who needed to be removed from the Newpark Boulevard area. When contact was made with the two individuals, stolen property from two prior vehicle burglaries that occurred in the area was observed in plain view.  One male suspect and one female suspect were ultimately taken into custody for possession of stolen property.

DUI

A traffic stop was initiated by deputies on I-84 headed Westbound after observing a vehicle swerving and traveling at speeds unsafe for the existing weather conditions. When contact was made with the driver, signs of impairment and an opened container were observed.  The driver participated in standardized field sobriety tests, on which he performed poorly.  He was subsequently taken into custody for DUI, several traffic-related offenses, and several additional alcohol offenses.
