Midway Ice Castles to close for season Feb. 17

The popular winter attraction will close after a little over a month of operation

MIDWAY, Utah – The Ice Castles at Midway will close for the season on Saturday, Feb. 17 after being open for just over a month.

The Ice Castles, located at Soldier Hollow, first welcomed guests for the season on Jan. 15 after warm December temperatures delayed the popular attraction’s opening.

A Utah-based company, Ice Castles LLC operates five locations across North America. Its castles are made up of thousands of hand-placed icicles, carved tunnels, slides, fountains, and sculptures.

According to a press release from Ice Castles, their attractions are typically open for 4-6 weeks out of the year. In 2023 the Ice Castles were open at Midway for nearly 10 weeks, the company’s longest season ever in Utah.

Tickets to visit the Ice Castles on Saturday were still available at the time this article was published.
