Local favorites claim spots on MONOPOLY: Park City Edition, showcasing local landmarks
PARK CITY, Utah — Forget the classic Atlantic City streets; Monopoly players can now navigate the streets of Park City with the newly released MONOPOLY: Park City Edition. Developed by Top Trumps USA, this special edition of the timeless board game features local landmarks, natural wonders, and cherished businesses that define the character of our mountain town.
In May 2023, Top Trumps USA made the announcement of its plans to create the Park City Edition board game and asked for input and suggestions for landmarks, businesses, and mainstays from the community.
Replacing the traditional ‘Boardwalk’ and ‘Park Place,’ the official MONOPOLY: Park City Edition showcases 27 locations, each carefully chosen to embody the spirit of Park City. Top Trumps USA, licensed by Hasbro for Monopoly, collaborated with locals to ensure an authentic representation of the town.
Aaron Green, a representative at Top Trumps USA, said, “We’re thrilled to launch MONOPOLY: Park City Edition and celebrate everything this beloved mountain town has to offer, from its world-renowned recreational and natural gems to its artistic culture and its historic and charming downtown landmarks.”
The game board features iconic destinations such as the Utah Olympic Park and The St. Regis Deer Valley, replacing the prestigious ‘Boardwalk.’
Local businesses also make their mark on the MONOPOLY board, including Tupelo Park City, The Eating Establishment, and High West Distillery are just a few of the noteworthy establishments. See the full list below.
MONOPOLY: Park City Edition includes tailored Community Chest and Chance playing cards.
“We’ve spent months creating a portrayal of the area and incorporated important feedback from locals to truly make this a fun and engaging game for Park City residents and visitors,” Green said.
