Hasbro announces MONOPOLY: Park City Edition and requests submissions from locals

PARK CITY, Utah — Top Trumps USA announced today a Winter 2023 debut of MONOPOLY: Park City Edition under license from global branded entertainment company Hasbro.

In the Park City Edition, the Atlantic City squares from Boardwalk to Park Place will be replaced with Park City landmarks and destinations. The Community Chest and Chance cards are also designed to represent Park City.

From May 9- June 20, locals and vacationers can share which locations they would like to see featured on the board by emailing the official MONOPOLY: Park City Edition team at parkcity@toptrumps.com. All submissions will be closely reviewed, tallied, and considered throughout the board curation process.

Aaron Green, a representative from Top Trumps USA, said, “I recommended Park City to my bosses and to Hasbro and said, ‘this will make a fantastic edition.’ Not only do you have millions of tourists every year, but you have ten thousand locals who are proud to be from here. There are great establishments, there are places that have been around almost 100 years or longer, the mining history. We know people will get excited about it when they see places they recognize, and it means something to them. That’s part of the reason why we chose Park City.

“We hope this edition brings MONOPOLY fans everything they love about the traditional board, adapted in a way that Park City locals and visitors alike will enjoy for generations to come,” Green said.

When making submissions, Green said the team would appreciate context and reasoning for submissions to understand the importance of each suggestion.

MONOPOLY: Park City Edition will launch nationwide in winter 2023 and will be available in stores and online. There will be a launch party for the game in late 2023 or early 2024.

MONOPOLY first hit shelves in 1935 with the Racecar, Thimble, Boot, Top Hat, and Battleship among the original set of MONOPOLY tokens; Scottie Dog and Wheelbarrow were added in the early 1950s. Although the brand has evolved over the past 87 years, the gameplay and iconography of the classic MONOPOLY game has remained unchanged, making it a timeless classic sure to be enjoyed by future generations. Today, MONOPOLY is the world’s favorite family game brand and is enjoyed by more than one billion players in 114 countries across the globe.
