Summit County Council to hear presentation on Dakota Pacific Jan. 17

Under Dakota Pacific Real Estate's latest proposal, the Park City Tech Center project has been reduced by 430,000 square feet of overall density

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — The Summit County Council will hear a presentation today, Jan. 17, from Dakota Pacific Real Estate (DPRE) on updates to its Park City Tech Center development application.

According to the meeting agenda, DPRE will present “Plan C” to the council at 1:55 p.m. during the work session of the regular Summit County Council meeting. No public hearings will be held at this time, and no decisions will be made on the matter.

Under Plan C, DPRE has reduced the total number of residential units by 373, and reduced the project size by 430,000 square feet of overall density. The group has also removed the full-service hotel from the project proposal, and reduced tallest building heights by ten feet.

Plan C also sees a 2% increase in affordable and workforce housing, a 13% increase in the ratio of privately owned residences, the addition of a two-acre “Central Park” open space and retail area, 93 additional units of 55+ housing, and 75,000 more square feet of commercial space.

While Summit County and DPRE have been embroiled in a lawsuit since March 2023, both parties agreed last month to temporarily stay legal proceedings and engage in public negotiations outside of the courtroom. The stay is set to end on June 8.
