Domino’s to give 20 towns a slice of $500,000 in ‘Plowing for Pizza’ Grant, Midway vying for spot
MIDWAY, Utah — In an initiative aimed at easing the burden of snow removal and plowing services for local streets, Domino’s is set to distribute $500,000 among 20 towns across the United States. The renowned pizza brand is reviving its successful 2021 Plowing for Pizza program, partnering with communities in a nationwide effort to combat the challenges of winter weather, and Midway is currently trying to vie for a spot on the roster.
The Plowing for Pizza initiative follows the footsteps of Domino’s previous Paving for Pizza program, which collaborated with towns in 2021 to repair potholes ahead of winter. The brand states that the new program is an extension of its commitment to supporting communities by focusing on snow removal and road clearance, allowing residents to safely enjoy Domino’s pizza even in wintry weather.
Domino’s expressed the brand’s dedication, stating, “[We’re] looking to partner with towns across the country in need of snow removal or plowing assistance, so that we can help our customers get out to warm up with hot pizza, even in snowy weather.”
How much do each of the 20 towns receive in grants?
“Domino’s is making a $25,000 grant to go toward each town’s snow removal/plowing budget because we believe that cold roads shouldn’t happen to hot pizza,” Domino’s states on their website.
To nominate a town for the Plowing for Pizza grant program, participants must submit a zip code along with an email address during the nomination period. Each person or email address is limited to one zip code nomination, and the deadline for submissions is January 21.
Park City residents can contribute to the cause, as the criteria for a town to be considered includes clusters or groups of nominated zip codes within a region or city that could benefit from the funding. So, the more zip codes in the region, the better, and having a Domino’s in the area doesn’t hurt either.
