Car attempts to overtake snowplow, causing major crash
UDOT reminds drivers that this situation could’ve been easily avoided if the other driver remained patient and gave the snowplow space and asks drivers to 'Please, do not pass a plow. Inside every snowplow is a person.'
UTAH COUNTY, Utah — The Utah Department of Transportation and the Utah County Sheriff’s Office report an incident where a car attempted to pass a snowplow on SR-73 in Eagle Mountain around 6:20 p.m. on Jan 5. During the maneuver, the snowplow collided with the car, causing minor damage. Subsequently, the snowplow veered off the road and overturned, striking a power pole. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the crash led to power outages for more than six homes and the closure of westbound traffic. The estimated $250,000 snowplow sustained serious damage in the incident and is likely beyond repair.
