Update: North Summit School District receives bomb threat

UPDATE – As of 4:00 p.m. the Summit County Sheriffs office reports that all schools in the North Summit School District have been cleared.

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — North Summit School District received a bomb threat this morning alongside several other districts in Utah, according to a statement from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

“At this time, the state cannot verify the validity of the threats but law enforcement is on scene and the schools are being evacuated,” said a statement from the SCSO. “Please avoid the area at this time.”

Parents and emergency contacts of students have been contacted and notified of pickup procedures for students. The SCSO has asked that anyone who has not received pickup information for their North Summit student contact the school district office at (435)-366-5654.
