Annual Park City Pink Powderfest discontinued by Huntsman Cancer Institute
Since its inception, Pink Park City has raised more than $506,000 for cancer research
PARK CITY, Utah — The Huntsman Cancer Institute located on the University of Utah campus announced that it will discontinue its annual springtime Park City PowderFest ski day at the Canyons Base of Park City Mountain.
“It was a difficult decision to make and we’re sad to see this Park City event go, but we continue to focus our work on making the biggest impact on raising funds for cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute,” said a statement from the Huntsman Cancer Foundation Events Team.
Since its inception in 2018 as Pink Park City, the event has raised more than $506,000 for cancer research. With 100% of funds donated directly to Huntsman Cancer Institute, accelerating their mission to understand cancer from its beginnings, to use that knowledge in the creation and improvement of cancer treatments, to relieve the suffering of cancer patients, and to provide education about cancer risk, prevention, and care.
“We are truly grateful for your unwavering dedication and passionate support,” said a statement from the institute. “Whether you’ve joined us as a participant, fundraiser, donor, sponsor, or volunteer, your commitment has significantly impacted our collective fight against cancer.”
With their signature event, Huntsman SportsFest, and their Huntsman Heroes program, there are many ways for people to continue to support Huntsman Cancer Institute. They also provide a Do-it-Yourself (DIY) fundraising program where individuals and groups can create events and designate funds to a cancer area that has affected them or their loved ones.
There is currently a matching grant in effect, and donations to the institute may be made on an ongoing basis here.
