Public Cosmic Skate follows Figure Skating of Park City’s holiday show, Dec. 9
PARK CITY, Utah — The Figure Skating Club of Park City’s annual Holiday Extravaganza will be held on Dec. 9, at 4:30 p.m. at the Park City Ice Arena, 600 Gillmor Way, Park City. The show will feature all club skaters, including the Aspire Program, Park City Ice Academy and several regional, sectional and national qualifying athletes.
There will be a Cosmic Skate for the public following the Extravaganza, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. with D.J. Afrodough for $10.
Skate rental and public Cosmic Skate session is included in the price of the Holiday Extravaganza. Preregistration online is $10 which also includes a slice of pizza, or $25 for a family of four with four slices. Kids 5 and under free (does not include pizza). Night-of prices, at the door, are $12/$30.
Seven athletes competed in sectionals in November in Tacoma, Washington. Each athlete who is invited to compete at these Pacific Coast Sectionals has received a U.S. Figure Skating medal.
Alex Peace is the Pacific Coast Sectional Juvenile Boys Champion and has qualified for the National High Performance Development Team.
Dash Williams is the Central Pacific Regional Champion and Alex is the Silver Medalist.
Madison Lampert is the Pacific Coast Sectional Juvenile Girls Pewter Medalist and has qualified for the National High Performance Development Team.
Autumn Boyd is the Central Pacific Champion and Madison is the Silver Medalist.
Sophia Gloskowski was also recognized as the Central Pacific Regional Silver Medalist.
Taylor Knight is the club president. At the Youth Sports Alliance fundraiser for FSCPC, along with other local teams, she told TownLift, “We’re all so proud of the skaters as they train year-round to become well-rounded athletes on and off the ice and represent Park City as they travel to competitions around the country.”
Three FSCPC skaters have gone on to be on the National Development Team.
They’ve been to Lake Placid where, on the arena gift shop shelf sits the autobiographical book by Utah Olympic gold medalist from 2022 in Beijing, Nathan Chen.
The Nationals will be held in San Jose, California.
Athletes are only allowed by US FS to attend three comps per season to create a well-balanced student athlete life.
