MILWAUKEE, Wisc. — On Saturday, at the National Championships for long track speed skating, Park City native and 2022 Olympian Casey Dawson won the title for the 5,000-meter mens race with a finish time of 6 minutes, 17.10 seconds, in Wisconsin; with U.S. Speedskating, which is based in Salt Lake City.
Runner up was Olympian teammate Jordan Stolz, who also claimed the title of National Champion in the distances of 500, 1,000, and 1,500 meters. Ethan Cepuran took third in the 5,000.
“I exceeded my expectations a little bit, so I’m excited about that,” Dawson said to Paul D. Bowker for US Speedskating.
