Red Bicycle bread will soon be available in Midway

Red Bicycle's 'crack bread' set to claim more eaters

MIDWAY, Utah — The famous salty stick bread from Red Bicycle Breadworks — aka Crack Bread — will soon be available in Midway, as Mike Holm, the owner of The Market in Park City, takes over Ridley’s in Midway and rebrands the store as The Market at Midway. The soft opening is slated for  Oct. 16.

Since 2007, Bret Whitford, owner of Red Bicycle Breadworks, has been handcrafting artisan loaves using the local ingredients: flour milled in Northern Utah, Redmond salt that is mined from an ancient seabed in central Utah, and natural leavenings. What sets these breads apart is the long fermentation process that grants them their complex flavors.

Red Bicycle began with a trailer and a couple of baker’s racks carrying 16 loaves of bread, making its delivery to Park City’s Sunday Silly Market. Today, the stick bread is baked fresh every day and will be delivered to The Market at Midway.
