Gov. Cox is encouraging individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities and counties to lower their flags until sunset on Oct. 30

UTAH — Gov. Spencer Cox has ordered that the flags of both the U.S. and Utah be lowered statewide as a mark of respect for the victims of the Oct. 25 shooting in Lewiston, Maine. President Biden had already ordered the U.S. flag lowered after the Maine mass shooting.

Cox is encouraging individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions to lower their flags until sunset on Oct. 30.

The Associated Press reported that at least 18 individuals were killed in shootings at a restaurant and a bowling alley in Lewiston on Wednesday night. Authorities are still searching for a suspect.
