Pets rescued and tragically lost in Francis home fire

FRANCIS, Utah — A structure fire that ignited on the home’s porch, quickly spread into the interior of a residence located in Francis today.

Emergency personnel from South Summit Fire District and Park City Fire District responded to the call around 1:00 p.m. All human occupants were successfully evacuated from the property.

According to officials, several pets were trapped inside the home during the incident, two dogs were unharmed as well as a turtle. However, the blaze claimed the lives of a few other pets due to smoke inhalation.
