New Curbside Yard Waste pilot program initiative proposed by Summit County
PARK CITY, Utah — Summit County is introducing a new optional Curbside Yard Waste Pilot Program.
The program is a joint effort among the county, Republic Services, and Spoil to Soil, a Peoa-based composting company. The goal is to compost yard waste, but the county needs the support of 3,500 households to turn this proposal into a reality.
Starting in Spring 2024, Republic Services is offering an optional curbside yard waste program for selected locations in Summit County. Participating residents would receive a 95-gallon cart specifically for their residential yard waste. Disposing of the waste would be as simple as wheeling the cart out to the curb, just like you do with your regular trash bins.
This program would be exclusively for residential yard waste, and is not applicable to businesses or landscapers. Also, only those in Park City and the Snyderville Basin, between Tollgate Canyon and Summit Park, would be eligible for the program.
The annual fee for this service would be $125, including the waste cart delivery, along with an additional $85 fee for starting the service.
Those interested in signing up for this initiative can find more information here. It’s important to note that completing the form provided does not automatically enroll you in the program.
