Four teens expected to survive after 100′ crash in Payson Canyon

UTAH COUNTY, Utah – Four teens, 3 female and one male passenger are expected to survive after the car they were in went 100′ off the road 9+ miles up Payson Canyon along Nebo Loop Scenic Byway. Utah County Sheriff deputies and Payson Fire Rescue responded to the call around 2:27 a.m. this morning.

The driver sustained a serious head laceration. A female passengers was not wearing a seat-belt and was ejected from the vehicle and unconscious. She was transported via AirMed to Intermountain Utah Valley Hospital. Another female passenger was pinned in the car and may have sustained a broken arm. The male passenger sustained a broken lower leg.

The Utah County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement “All four are lucky to be alive! All are expected to survive. I’ve told young people many times that there are a lot of things that can happen when they are out after dark or after midnight – and not very many of those things are good!”
