Summit County fire danger ticks up to moderate, extreme in other parts of Utah
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah – The fire danger level for Summit County was raised to moderate on Tuesday, July 18.
This is significantly later in the season to be at a moderate fire danger risk level than years past. For example last year the fire danger level was raised to HIGH on July 8, 2022 for Summit County.
There are currently no fire restrictions in unincorporated Summit County, and as a reminder, please practice fire sense this Pioneer Day weekend. Park City Government did enact a ban on open fires, fireworks effective July 20, 2023
In other parts of the state, fire danger levels have already hit extreme. Particularly in Tooele, Box Elder, San Juan, Grand and Emery counties.
Earlier this week the Sunny Cove Fire triggered The Mustang Ridge Campground to be evacuated near Flaming Gorge Reservoir.
