PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Fire District shared a video today of C Platoon Stations 38 and 33 training on tandem pumping and master streams.
In order for an engine company to suppress a fire, they often use different-sized hoses to deliver water from a source to the fire.
“One method of water deliver is using master streams,” said a statement from the PCFD. “Most engines have a master stream device on top of an apparatus that is fixed. The use of a master stream is usually thought of for defensive fire operations. Tandem pumping is a two engine relay used to overcome friction loss.”
