Gear up for Park City’s annual Fourth of July Celebration

PARK CITY, Utah — It’s time to get ready for Park City’s annual Fourth of July Celebration, which is set to kick off on Tuesday with a bang.

The festivities will begin at 8 a.m. with a 5k fun run, and the annual Park City Fourth of July Parade will begin at 11 a.m.

At 12:30 p.m. there will be games, food trucks and music at the City Park and Skate Park, and the day will end at 10 p.m. with a drone show at Park City Mountain.

According to event specific information from Park City Municipal, the resort will be the best place to view the drone show, but Park City Golf Course, City Park and Lower Main Street should also offer good views.

For those driving to town for the day, parking will be removed from Main Street, Park Avenue (from 9th to 15th Streets), Heber Avenue, Swede Alley and all Swede Alley surface parking lots from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 4. These roads are expected to close to all vehicles at 8 a.m.

From 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. there will be no parking at City Park. Vehicles parked in any of the indicated areas during prohibited times will be towed at the owners expense.

Free parking and transit can be found at Richardson Flat, Sandridge Lots, the Park City School District building on Kearns Boulevard, Deer Valley and Park City Mountain Resorts.

Paid parking will be available at the China Bridge Parking Structure, Main Street and surface parking lots after 2 p.m. and at certain private parking lots throughout Old Town.
