Driver killed in early morning car crash near Park City
PARK CITY, Utah — A 29-year-old man died early this morning in a single-vehicle car crash.
At approximately 12:10 a.m., the man was driving a black Nissan Armada northbound on SR-224 just outside of Park City when the car ran off the road to the right, striking a traffic sign support pole.
The driver required extrication from the vehicle and was the car’s only occupant, according to a statement from the Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The driver was confirmed to be deceased shortly after he was transported from the scene. The man’s identity has not yet been released.
“The vehicle was previously reported as an attempt to locate for driving at excessive speeds on Park City Main Street,” said a statement from Utah DPS. “Investigators are working to determine what contributed to the vehicle going off the roadway.”
