Current Park City Council member Ryan Dickey announces candidacy

PARK CITY, Utah – Current Park City Council member Ryan Dickey officially declared his candidacy for reelection. Dickey will be running for the same seat he is vacating and has joined several other candidates for City Council. Dickey is currently serving his first term on City Council, a partial term to which he was appointed following former council member Nann Worel’s election as mayor.

A primary election will take place on August 15, 2023, as there are more than six candidates who have officially declared. After the primary elections, the top six vote-getters will advance to the general elections on November 7, 2023.

Since relocating to Park City in 2011, Dickey has been active in the community and served as a member of the Snyderville Basin Planning Commission for five years, acting as chair in 2020-2021. In addition to serving as a board member and previous president of the Park City Noon Rotary, Dickey is also a member of the Snyderville Basin Water Reclamation District Board.

Dickey spoke about his time on the City Council, as well as some challenges still present in the community; “Park City is an incredible community, but of course, we face challenges – as we always have. I am excited about the momentum we’ve built in the city to address these challenges – stocking our workforce housing pipeline, convening regional partners to build a shared transportation vision, extending free transit access to every Park City resident for the first time, protecting our neighborhoods from resort impacts, addressing our child care crisis, significantly enhancing our recreation amenities, and embarking on a bold reimagining of the Bonanza Park neighborhood in the heart of town,” Dickey said.

Dickey went on to say that he was looking forward to a competitive election that put an emphasis on ideas, background, and leadership style.

“In a city that seems to have become needlessly fractured politically during the COVID years, I’m proud to have great relationships throughout the community and to have served as a bridge builder throughout my term in office, supporting all of my colleagues on council to further initiatives important to them. I’m collegial, open-minded, and independent, and I hope the community will reward these types of candidates in November.”

He and his wife, Allyson, have two daughters, Caroline and Campbell. In Park City, Ryan and Allyson are the owners of Model HOA, a market-leading community association management company with over 1,100 residents in its portfolio of neighborhoods. Ryan works for the independent real estate firm Windermere Real Estate as a broker. Prior to founding Model HOA, Ryan worked for 12 years as a management consultant for Accenture and IBM, offering C-level consulting services to clients in the retail and aviation sectors.

“We must also strive to be excellent in every facet of our operation, by continually enhancing our operational capabilities, attracting and retaining the best people, and further ingraining a customer-centric mindset in our city culture,” Dickey said. “We have an incredible group of people working across our city operations, and as leaders we need to support them with simple, clear, and consistent codes and processes.”
