Two in critical condition after head-on collision on SR 248

PARK CITY, Utah — Two people are in critical condition after a two-car head-on collision on SR 248 near mile marker 4.

Three individuals were involved in the accident. One was extricated by firefighters from the passenger truck, and one went to the hospital in a personally owned vehicle.

Authorities responded to the scene of the accident at approximately 5:50 a.m., and determined that the crash was caused by icy road conditions, according to a statement from the Park City Fire District.

“Please drive slow and watch for early spring black ice road conditions,” said Battalion Chief Max Dosher.

The Park City Police Department and Summit County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the scene.
