National Weather Service issues flood advisory for Emigration Creek in SLC
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Flooding is starting to become a problem in the Salt Lake Valley, with the National Weather Service issuing a flood advisory for the East Bench of Salt Lake City. The advisory is currently in effect through 12 p.m. on Thursday but could be extended.
Wasatch Hollow Park has been closed until further notice, according to the Salt Lake City Public Lands Department. Flooding is occurring not only in the park but also on neighboring streets. 1700 South between 1500 East and 1700 East is closed while crews work to contain the flooding and move the water away from nearby homes.
