Join Swaner for the Annual Kimball Junction Trash Cleanup
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Looking for something to do to help the local ecosystem on Earth Day? Join the Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter on Saturday, May 6 for its annual Kimball Junction Trash Clean Up.
Volunteers will head out across the area to pick up trash accumulated over the winter, as if not removed; the garbage will likely end up on the preserve causing harm to wildlife and the important wetlands. Registration for a shift between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. can be done online.
Bartolo’s will be providing light snacks and coffee. All participants will be entered into an opportunity to draw prizes and gift cards from local sponsors. Among the prizes donated are from Bartolo’s, Recycle Utah, Keep Nature Wild, Skullcandy, Northland, Pale Blue Earth, PC Yoga Collective, Hill’s Kitchen, Bee’s Wrap, Storm Cycles, and MDSkin.
Check-in and supply pick-up will be done in front of the Swaner EcoCenter. Assignments to specific areas will also be given out at check-in.
